It makes sense to me; I'm vaguely familiar with the series but less so than your good self so it would be wrong of me to post on the subject before your good self. If my choice of words was somwhat gramitically obscure then I apologise but I dare say that sence it did make.

Not seen it- sorry. You should be able to get the gist of what's going on from just watching it without understanding the script though. I was under the impression that everything could be found subtitled in this day and age.

You do not measure it...unless we are talking about speed. But James is talking about level...and by level means the vocabulary used on the book, the way that is written... also how good an individual understand after reading it....

An IQ test is a between participants designed experiment measured and fitted to a normal distrubution, mean 100. Reading levels are not quantitative but qualitative ratio experiments so to measure them in the same way would be a really bad idea.
